A life of faith

Theopemptus was a bishop in Nicomedia during the persecution under Diocletian. He refused to offer sacrifice to the pagan gods and was imprisoned and tortured. His steadfastness led Theonas to embrace Christianity. Theopemptus baptized Theonas in prison and continued his own confession of faith until his execution.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Theopemptus invites reflection on supporting another person’s faith while facing difficulties of your own.
