Saint Timothy of Prusa
Bishop and martyr
Prusa (Bursa)
Feast day: June 10

A life of faith
Timothy served as bishop of Prusa. During the persecution under Emperor Julian, he defended the Christian faith and refused to comply with demands imposed on Christians. He was imprisoned, but Christians continued to visit him. Timothy strengthened the visitors in their faith. He was eventually beheaded on the emperor’s order.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
