A life of faith

Vincent served as a deacon under Bishop Valerius in Spain. Because the bishop had difficulty speaking, Vincent was entrusted with preaching and instructing the faithful. During the persecution associated with Datian, Vincent suffered imprisonment and martyrdom at Valencia.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Vincent’s ministry invites attention to the different gifts through which people can help one another serve.
