Saint Xanthippe of Spain
Righteous woman
Spain
Feast day: September 23

A life of faith
Xanthippe is remembered as the wife of Probus, a governor in Spain, and the sister of Polyxena. The received account says she received Christian baptism after her sister returned from the eastern part of the Roman Empire. It remembers Xanthippe proclaiming Christ for the rest of her life.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
