A life of faith

Zeno was bishop of Verona in the fourth century. He taught Scripture and Christian worship to the city’s congregations and to women living in a monastic community. A collection of his sermons preserves his teaching on baptism, the Eucharist and generosity. The received life also remembers him encouraging the people of Verona to help those in need. His relics remain associated with the basilica of San Zeno.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
