A life of faith

Zenobia entrusted her share of the family inheritance to her brother Zenobius so that it could be given to poor people. When she learned that he was being tortured for Christian faith, she went to the place of punishment and publicly declared the same faith. She refused attempts to persuade her to withdraw that confession. The calendar remembers her torture and execution alongside her brother.

The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.

A reflection

Zenobia’s example invites generosity and the courage to stand beside a person facing persecution.
