Saint Zosimas of Tumane
Hermit
Tumane in Serbia
Feast day: August 21 (Gregorian); August 8 (Julian)

A life of faith
Zosimas is remembered as a hermit of the wooded area around Tumane in Serbia. Local tradition associates him with the Sinaite monastic movement in the time of Prince Lazar and with a cave used for prayer and worship. Later accounts connect his death with an accidental wound during a hunt, although those accounts differ in detail. His grave at Tumane became a place of enduring local veneration.
The Eastern Orthodox Church remembers saints in prayer and commemoration. Their lives offer examples for Christians learning to live their faith.
